Our School Council represents the views of all our pupils. It gives children the opportunity to make their voices heard and feel part of the whole school community.
The School Council is made up of children from each class ~ within Key Stages 1 and 2.
The School Council Members are elected by their classmates on an annual basis. The School Council meet regularly to discuss the needs of the school, any issues that the children may have and to plan future projects ~ including fund-raising ideas.
One of the issues for our children was the use of the ‘Buddy Bus Stop’ bench. The School Councillors now organise a Playground Buddy rota to facilitate friendships.
Another successful project was The Dog Day! The children brought their ‘dogs’ to school with a donation ~ £363.03 was collected; the money went to support P.A.T. dogs (Pets As Therapy), Guide Dogs and as part of an annual sponsorship of Evasta, a child in Northern Uganda through the 'One Step at a Time' charity.
We now have regular weekly visits from our two P.A.T. dogs - George visits the children at our Church End site and Lola visits the children at our Forest End site. Meet them below. Bert & Alfie are also regular school visitors.
